During the course “Mobile Computing” in the University Linz we had to build a mobile app of some kind. My team decided to build an Android app for climbers where you can browse nearby boulder locations and upload your own favorite spots. The result is BoulderMap.

My part was primarily building the UI which was a lot of fun and very interesting. First I researched favorite, successful and similar apps and looked closely on the good and bad parts of their user interfaces. I decided to stick with the Android Holo style, big pictures and a simple navigation.

KEBA offered students of the University of Art Linz as well as students of the course Webwissenschaften at the Johannes Kepler University Linz the opportunity to distinguish themselves in a competition. The aim of the competition was to generate a design proposal for the surface of the KEBA Future Zone (an interactive platform for innovation), the surface will act as a kind of optical guidance system.

Long story short: I won the 2nd place ex aequo with a colleague :)

Complete rewrite of the successful website www.strudengau.tv.

The old website was pretty much completely generated through JavaScript, which was perfect for the first two years. But the internet changed, the team behind strudengau.tv changed, the goals changed. So a new website had to be created. First it had to be based on a CMS so the members can easily change content. This was a great opportunity to test my skills with WordPress, clearly my favorite content management system.

The Schatz-Card offers tourists benefits and special rates for partner companies of the Schatz.Kammer Burg Kreuzen. The website gives an overview of all partners and their offers.

This website features a well structured and flexible HTML5 structure with some special details. On top of that it’s fully responsive, which means the layout adopts to the visitors device and website content automatically. It is managed through WordPress, the theme is completely built by me and contains a lot of useful custom made shortcodes which help the editors.

This website went from zero to online in only two days. This is possible because I’m using a feature rich, powerful and flexible base theme, which I’ve built over the last years. The theme already includes many parts most websites need.
